I've seen this before, but it's still one of the funniest things out there...
Bodybuilding.com Presents: Don't Be THAT Guy: Gym Weirdos. Friday, January 28, 2005Horses, Dwarves, and Bears, Oh My!
Here's the Wrestlecrap.com review of Surreal Life Episode 3. I think this is the funniest thing I've ever read in my entire life.
Thursday, January 27, 2005Back/Bicep Day
I weighed out (nekked) at a whopping 173.5 lbs. today. A new high. Yay!
Goal by the end of the year: 185 lbs. 13% bpt. Why do I post this? Why not? If you share your goals, it's inpiration to keep up with them. Smackdown Canceled?
Maybe this will be the wake up call they need and we can start seeing a quality product again. They still have a year left on their contract. I can already think of a ton of great angles they could run in order to combine the "brands" and bring ECW into the fold.
Unfortunately, what will most likely happen is that Vince will assume it's getting canceled due to the fact that Steph hasn't been on TV enough lately. The truth, of course, is the writing just sucks. Look at the Royal Rumble, for example. We have a three-way match with Bradshaw, Angle, and Big Show. What are they fighting over? Surely not the WWE title. No, that's just an added bonus. What they're actually fighting over in storyline is these women that we a) Have no idea who they are, and b) could care less about. Let the damn wrestlers wrestle and maybe your audience would at least start walking away instead of running. I also find it amusing that TNA continues to gain timeslots and increase PPV buyrates, just a WWE continues to lose viewers and timeslots. I watched Chyna on Howard Stern last night. I don't know if she was drunk or high or what, but my god. Get that "girl" some freakin' help. Her ex-buddy (an our favorite wrestler) Sean "X-Pac, Syxx, 123 Kid" Waltman called in to lecture her about her behavior. It was pretty wild, and Waltman actually sounded like he was trying to get his life in order. Joanie (who had stripped down to her tighty-whities for no apparent reason other than to make the viewers at home hurl) did not sound like she was trying to get her life in order.
Other fun facts:
I just have the feeling that watching stuff like this gives Triple H a whole new appreciation for Steph. And don't for get to catch the exploits of Chyna, Mini-me, and Peter Brady on the next Surreal Life. Tuesday, January 25, 2005Monday Night Raw
Raw was just kind of there and a big nothing show this week. Since it was in Oklahoma, they had to embarass JR. And since it is WWE the morons had Batista (who rules) go over the Tag Team Champs in a handicap match. Way to bury the Tag titles even more.
Otherwise, nothing else worth mentioning happened. It made good background noise while I played Nethack. Monday, January 24, 2005Sunday Night Raw
Last night Desperate Housewives surpassed Oz on the "can't wait for next week" scale and surpassed Twin Peaks on the plot twist/big mystery stuff, thus making it the Best TV Series of all-time. If it stays good for a few more years.
Boston Legal FINALLY had a good episode again and brought back my faith in the show. They also took on the FDA, which scored big-time points to me. Another alternative to WWE
You can watch Memphis Wrestling online from Jerry Lawler's site. The current one posted is a 2004 year in review.

Friday, January 21, 2005Skeletor's Origin
Some guy put together clips from the 2002 He-man Cartoon to tell the complete story of Skeletor's origin. Not bad...
Skeletor's Origin from the 2002 He-man Cartoon Thursday, January 20, 2005Something to think about...
I saw this on Bob Brinker's site.
"Historically, stocks tend to have the highest rate of return compared to bonds and cash. Of course, they also have the greatest risk due to their higher volatility. The longer the period of the investment, the lower the volatility, because the long-term growth trend of a stock tends to overcome short-term price drops. If you are close to retirement, you may want to stay away from more volatile investments. However, if your retirement is still many years away, it may pay to invest in these volatile markets. Let’s say you invest a lump sum of $100,000 into a highly volatile asset returning an average annual rate of return of 10 percent over 25 years. The year you retire, it suddenly drops by 25 percent. The value of your investment after the drop is $813,000. If you had invested that same $100,000 lump sum into a less volatile investment with a 6 percent return and experienced no 25 percent loss in the final year, you would still only have $429,000 after 25 years. So even with a significant loss, it paid to invest in the more volatile investment." Wednesday, January 19, 2005Stupid Legs
I did squats for the first time in, like, a year Saturday. Today I can finally touch my toes again and walk without looking like there's some sort of foreign object exploring certain unspeakable cavities of my body. I forget how sore you get can from a little thing like that. I took Sunday and Monday off to cry, but had an awesome chest/triceps day yesterday. Due to the leg soreness, no cardio was involved; just a little warm up & cool down on a bike, but I weighted out at an all-time high of 173 lbs. Whoooo! I must be doing something right. I started out Jan 1. at 165 with a 6-month goal of weighing 175. I might actually reach that goal by February. Intense training plus lots of water and rest works wonders.
Sorry for all the details. Tuesday, January 18, 2005Monday Night Raw
Lots of good stuff last night on Raw. I'm really digging Muhammad Hassan. Say what you will about his character, but his delivery is just awesome. And damn does he get heat. Sure it's cheap heat, but if they use him correctly, that cheap heat can turn into money. What they need to do is just keep putting him over mid-card talent and start pushing his undefeated record until they find a good opponent for him. Hell, have him do a surprise jump to Smackdown and take out Kurt Angle. That could work.
I like seeing Shawn Michaels play the heel in Canada. I wish they'd drop the Bret Hart stuff, but it's almost a tradition to heckle HBK in Canada now, and he does such a good job that it's okay. His match with Christian was good and it also helped Edge gain more credibility against Michaels in their fued. I still wish Edge, Christian, and Tyson would realign with Trish and form a new stable. Christians is great and Trish would make a good mouthpiece for the group. Of course I wouldn't mind a piece of Trish either.... Trish gave a great interview, which just depresses me because they all but did away with a women's division, so her talent just goes to waste. Also, why have Kane come chokeslam her? That did nothing to get Kane over for the night. And finally, as much as I hated the non-finish of the main event it was really funny to see Snitsky and Kane having a casual conversation in the middle of the table. I wonder who'll get fired for that little mishap. In the end, it appears Raw is getting some sort of a sense of direction again, with the build for a HHH/Batista WMXXI match. Let's just hope they don't make it a three-way with Orton thrown in. Monday, January 17, 2005TNA PPV Results
Last night's TNA PPV sounds like it was a pretty good show. Here's the match results...

Desperate Housewives was awesome last night and continued to be the best show on television. Another huge plot twist came with Mike and his evil benefactor. The stuff with Bree and the handgun was also hillarious. Damn, can't wait for next week.
Boston Legal continued it sucky path to destruction this week with another barely watchable show, due to David E. Kelly's insistance on making all of his show PUSH a left-wing agenda at every turn. We also saw Lake Bell's character get fired. At least she didn't randomly become an out-of-the-closet lesbian (ala last week's Law & Order.) Of coure, on Law & Order it would have made sense for Serena to pretend that she was a lesbian just to avoid sleeping with McCoy, like all of his other assistants did. Who knows. It just seems like they were doing it only to be PC to me. Sunday, January 16, 2005Welcome to the site.
Welcome to day numero uno of the new site design. I've been planning this for quite some time, so I'm not too depressed about ditching the old format. Instead I'm looking forward to using this site to promote whatever wacko idea comes to mind, without any specific theme. Almost like it has a theme of absence haha.
Anywho, send me some feedback or leave some comments. I'll always listen, I swear. And also check out FactVersesFiction.com to see what James and the other guys have been up to lately. - Jason |
