Bad Combo

Here's a bit of advice. Don't take an Arsenal-X pill, then go see The Ring Two and drink a large Coke at the theater.

Monday night Raw

Dave Sherer (PWInsider.com) asks:

"When The King said that (Triple H) and Batista would face off "nose to nose", was I the only one thinking that Batista was at about a three nose disadvantage?"

Terri Schiavo: Sentenced to death for being disabled

Usally, I'm a "pull the plug if it's over" type of guy, but this case is different. I really believe that Terri's "husband" did whatever he could to deny proper treatment of her. There's also evidence that she's been abused. Also, no one has ever really said what caused her condition. Also, her "husband" wants to have her cremated when she dies so that there is no autopsy.

And if people are so "let her die with dignity" then why don't they do just that. What the courts and her "husband" want is for her to die of dehyrdation. That's torture. Why not just give her some lethal injections instead? It would end her life immediatly instead of forcing her to suffer for five days.

And check out these links...

The best band ever

While I was catching up on email and whatnot, I realized that I didn't mention a show I saw a few weeks ago. Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers were in Omaha last month. It was only the second time I saw them, but I've got to say the show was incredible. Roger Clyne is the former lead singer of The Refreshments.

The show was great. Roger Clyne has this gimick where people in the audience where hats and he'll take the hat from a fan and wear it for a song or two. He also played a ton of Refreshments songs, which was good.

Check out Roger Clyne's web page and go see them if they're in your area. Trust me, it will be worth it.

On the other hand, I caught a Show Is The Rainbow show this weekend and I think I've finally had it with Darren. His shows used to be a great work of art based on audience participation and just a bunch of crazy people having a great time. Now he's nothing but a political hack pushing an anti-Bush message (with videos and all) and he won't be seeing anymore of my money. Too bad; I really thought the guy had potential. He gave up all of his originality and has now joined the league of generic political guys.

When will the entertainers get it? People don't want to get partisan politics at rock shows! We want entertainment; entertain us! Don’t preach at us.

Cool lyrics of the week

Yeah, I know I said I'd do this every Friday. Then I forgot and got lazy. Anyhow, here's the lyrics to one of Rush's greatest songs, "The Pass" from their Presto album. Give it a listen sometime.

"Proud swagger out of the schoolyard
Waiting for the world's applause
Rebel without a conscience
Martyr without a cause

Static on your frequency
Electrical storm in your veins
Raging at unreachable glory
Straining at invisible chains

And now you're trembling on a rocky ledge
Staring down into a heartless sea
Can't face life on a razor's edge
Nothing's what you thought it would be

All of us get lost in the darkness
Dreamers learn to steer by the stars
All of us do time in the gutter
Dreamers turn to look at the cars
Turn around and turn around and turn around
Turn around and walk the razor's edge
Don't turn your back
And slam the door on me

It's not as if this barricade
Blocks the only road
It's not as if you're all alone
In wanting to explode

Someone set a bad example
Made surrender seem all right
The act of a noble warrior
Who lost the will to fight

And now you're trembling on a rocky ledge
Staring down into a heartless sea
Done with life on a razor's edge
Nothing's what you thought it would be

No hero in your tragedy
No daring in your escape
No salutes for your surrender
Nothing noble in your fate
Christ, what have you done?"

Movies...

I had a busy weekend and watched Anonymous Rex, Hellraiser: Bloodline, and National Treasure. None of the three were all that bad. I also picked up King's Field IV on PS2 for $10 and must say that the game totally rules.

New host

I've switched hosts, but it seems like the DNS keeps switching back to the old one every couple of hours. I suppose it will take a few more days before everything is final. Very strange.

Mission accomplished

I met my goal of weighing out at 175 lbs. today! The new training split has worked wonders. The gains have been steady and consistant, so I'm certain that they've been in the "right places." I'll know more next time I get my body fat percent checked.

Only fifty more pounds before I can finally become a pro-wrestler. :)

Oh yeah, I've also been cycled off of creatine for a little over a month. The only supplement I'm taking is ZMA right now, plus the occasional protein shake.

And I know no one cares... I just post this stuff because it keeps me motivated.

Dave Ramsey on new Bankruptcy Law

Dave Ramsey was on CNBC to discuss a new banckruptcy law. Here's a few interesting quotes and a link to watch the video.

"No one except for me and Ted Kennedy are standing up for the consumer. I can't believe we're on the same side."

We've got a bad business model because you give dead people, dogs, and people who shouldn't have credit cards, credit cards -- then quit giving them credit cards! . . . This is bought and paid for by the bankers, baby, and it is anti-consumer -- a real bad plan. I am positive that the backers of the plan had their back pocket in mind. . . . It's wrong."

"I generally vote Republican, and I'm ashamed of the Republicans."

NWA: TNA results

Team Canada beat AMW & BG James & Konnan
Comments: AMW should have won.

Chris Sabin beat Chase Stevens
Comments: Don't care.

Dustin Rhodes beat Raven
Comments: Why? Raven should be the future of this company.

Team Traci beat Team Trinity
Comments: Don't care.

Monty Brown beat Tryton (Brown pinned a masked man who came to the ring when the lights went out)
Comments: That just sounds too confusing.

Jeff Hardy beat Abyss
Comments: Oooh. Bad booking. This was a no-DQ match as far as I know. It wouldn't have hurt Hardy to have Abyss throw him around a lot and get the win.

The Outlaw beat Kevin Nash
Comments: That's odd.

Christopher Daniels beat AJ Styles, Ron Killings, and Elix Skipper to win the Ultimate X Challenge and the X Title
Comments: Yeah! Christopher Daniels has been showing a lot of personality lately and I'm glad he gets to carry the title now. Plus it give AJ a chance to go for the NWA world title for a little while.

Jeff Jarrett beat DDP to retain the NWA World Heavyweight Title
Comments: DDP should have won here. As TNA continues to grow, they need a guy like DDP to be the main player. Jarret has held the title forever and DDP looks more credible.

Spike TV Won't Stay in Ring with WWE

I think this is a mistake for Spike TV, but what will happen to wrestling in America? There speculation that WWE will go back to USA network, but will USA take back their prodical son? Time will tell, but now is not a good time for this to happen. Because with Vince out on injury, you-know-who and her husband are running the show right now.

Pretty good ghost video

Don't know if you've seen this yet, but I found it on a message board.

"This is a car advertisement from somewhere. When they finished filming the ad, the people who made it noticed something moving along the side of the car, like a ghostly white mist, they also heard weird noises. The ad was never put on TV because the unexplained ghostly phenomenon frightened the production team out of their wits. Watch it and about halfway look and you will see the white mist crossing in front of the car then following it along the road and you will hear the weird noises. . . spooky!"

Watch it here.

Down with GNC

So after getting raped at GNC yesterday, I checked out Amazon.com and found the exact same supplements for 1/3 the price! Why have I been wasting money at GNC all these years?

Oh well. From now on, I want you all to buy your vitamins and supplement from Amazon.com. Plus, if you go there from this site, you'll help me out a little :)

Monday Night Raw

Here's some Raw thoughts and questions ....

Why don't they turn Ric Flair face? It would have made perfect sense for him to turn with Batista. Both of them are tired of Hunter's crap and the Bradshaw's limo stuff could have been the final blow to turn Flair off of H. Also, Batista showed us last night that he's still not quite ready to carry a mike. Flair could be the perfect mouthpiece for Dave.

Shouldn't Trish be the face in her feud with Christie Wassername? The whole thing is based on Trish Stratus complaining that she is a talented worker and all of the other nameless bimbos are taking away TV time from her.

Didn't Batista sure get it right when he said that everyone was tired of Raw being all about Triple H all of the time?

Shawn Michaels and Edge sure put on one hell of a match. Blood plus great work equals great fun. I hope they don't completely forget about Edge, though. He's still one of the best and his heel gimmick is working out pretty well. I'm sure he'll be in the Y2J Ladder match.

Speaking of the Y2J Ladder match, who's going to be in it? For sure, I'm guess Jericho (duh) Edge, Christian... and that's all. Maybe a returning Matt Hardy. Benoit? Mohammad Whassisname? Chris Masters (I keep calling him Chris Mathews.) Some other jobbers like Hurricane? Or Kane? Who knows. As long it's watchable and serves some sort of purpose.

Also, Piper's Pit will return to Wrestlemania to interview Steve Austin!!! That's big news, but not as big as the following news item...

Hulk Hogan! Wrestlemania is truly the "House that Hulk Built" and at WMXXI the master is coming home. I'd love to see them put together some sort of angle with Hogan vs. Austin vs. Piper. So what if it's not a Beniot/Guerrero classic. You can combine all of the heat Beniot & Guerroro have for their entire combined careers and they wouldn't add up to one day of Hogan's at his best. Funny how much I hated him as a kid. Flair was and will always be THE man, but no matter how many five-star matches Flair put on with Steamboat, Windham, or Sting, none of us would be sitting around watching wrestling twenty-two years later if there was no Hulk Hogan. It was really funny hearing King and JR sucking up to Hogan in the commentary booth all night, though.

Budd Hopkins - 'A Whitewash...Brutal Suppression Of Evidence'

While I agree with Hopkins that TONS, literally TONS of real evidence was left off of the ABC special, I don't question any motives the way he does here. The only beef I had with the ABC special was that they played way too much "witness testimony" and show virtually no video, photographic, or radar evidence. There's so much more out there than what was presented on the Jennings show.

Here's hoping he does a follow up with a little more to show.

Read Bud Hopkins' review here.
