We want POLICE SQUAD on DVD now!!! Petition

I watched another movie

Watched Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult last night.

Though I've seen the trilogy hundreds of times, it's always fun to watch one of these. 33 1/3 is the worst of the series, but it's still got some good one-liners. "Much like a midgit at a urinal, I've got to keep on my toes." Plus, any movie where Leslie Nielsen pretends to be Weird Al Yankovic in order to get into the Oscars rules.

I watched a movie

I just finished watching "A Man Who Became Pope." It was a three hour biography movie about Karol Wojtyla (Pope John Paul II.) The first half was all about the Germany occupation of Poland during WWII and how Karol went from freedom fighter to priest. The second half was all about his fight against Communism in Polland and his rise to power. And there's a lot of death and violence with some blood thrown it. Great acting too. I might to some fact checking, but I don't think they used too much "dramic license" on the movie. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to say this: WATCH THIS MOVIE. It was the best movie I've ever seen. I can't wait for the DVD.

Windows 95 turns 10

Here's a link an article from ten years ago when Window 95 launced. Pretty cool.

ProWrestlingInsider.com - WWE/TNA Wrestling News, Rumors, Columns and Results

PW Insider has a great interview with Lanny Poffo. Among the topics are wrestling deaths and general health.

Here's a good quote about Curt Hennig: "He was the best thing that ever happened to me for about a four month period. And I learned a lot from him. I took a lot of his advice, I wish he had taken mine."

SummerSlam Tonight!

Like most marks out there, the possibility of a Bret Hart appearance has me actually looking forward to a PPV for once. I doubt I'll spend any money, but I'm sure I'll spend the night glued to my computer screen waiting for results.

WorldNetDaily: Support our troops!

Here's an amusing article by Joseph Farah about a marine who was denied lower in-state tuition at a community college because he spent too much time out of state while serving two tours of duty in Iraq.

"Just when you think you have heard every stupid, bureaucratic, red-tape, government nonsense story in the world, along comes a Stalinist institution like the Austin Community College to show you there is no depth of injustice to which the uncivil non-servants will not plunge."

Monday Night RAW

Raw was better this week than usual. Here's some thoughts...

Shawn Michaels was abolutely perfect in the opening segment. That is exactly what a heel is supposed to be. I think my heart rate doubled when they played The Hitman's music.

Didn't the Heart Throbs just beat the Tag Champs last week? Why are the doing the job in a handicap match against the Big Show?

Isn't it awesome that they have actually annonced the entire card to Summer Slam in advance for once?

Did I mention that Shawn Michaels rules?

Kurt Angle's attack on Eugene was great and intense. Kurt is so cool when he's an angry heel instead of a comedy act.

The diva search is over! (and I mean finished, not "over")

I watched the Hogan/Angle match with my girlfriend. Hogan isn't exactly a shining example of realness in the buisness.

It was great that Michaels used the Sharp Shooter on Hogan to finish the show. They should have had Bret make the save. Even better, would be to announce him as the special guest referee at SummerSlam.

If I was trapped on an island with only one wrestling angle to watch over and over, it would be Shawn Michaels giving a heel interview in Montreal.

Did I mention that Shawn Michaels rules?

Explaining Those Vivid Memories of Martian Kidnappers

Here's a review of a book coming out that takes a scientific look at abductions. I just might read this one.

New York Times Book Review

AND THIS TIME I MEAN IT!!!

Work schedule will make it impossible to start up again until Friday, but come Friday here's what kind of training split I'm going to have. No excuses, no exceptions.

Day 1: Chest, Back, abs
Day 2: Biceps, Triceps, Forearms, Calves
Day 3: Shoulders, Neck, abs
Day 4: Quads, Hams, Calves
Day 5: Rest
Day 6: Repeat.

20 Minutes cardio after everyworkout plus warmup & cooldown.

I'll try this for eight weeks, measure the gains and re-evaluate.

If I fail, you may forever know me a Sir Flabbyboobypants.

Quick RAW Thoughts

I watched RAW last night without fastforwarding. Except for the diva thing.

With the Kurt Angle "Yes/No" interview style, it looks like Kurt was able to out do Austin's "what" interview style on the annoying level.

And why are they wasting Hogan vs. Angle by showing it next week for free?

And why does Eugene need to be involved? Unless Ed Leslie returns as The Zodiac (Yes! No!) to team up with Angle verses Hogan and Eugene.

Edge gave an incredible interview backstage. "Hardy only has a job because his girlfriend fell in love with a main-eventer."

After everything is said and done, Matt Hardy takes on Snitzki (sp). WWE could write a book called "Adam vs. Matt: How to screw up the angle of a lifetime."

Does anyone actually care to see their SummerSlam match anymore?

Isn't the Jericho/Cena feud a lot more interesting when it's about wrestling and not "music"?

Don't tell anyone this, but I not only watched the John Cena "Right Now" video, but I LIKED it.

I think Shawn Michaels turned heel again just to remind me why I'm still a wrestling fan.

That's it for now.

Boortz on Jennings

Check out what Neal Boortz had to say about Peter Jennings. Kind of blunt, but right on.

"OK ... I know I'm going to catch email hell about this, but now is as good a time as any to say this. You smokers -- you drug addicts out there -- don't forget to light up today on your way to work. After all, there's nothing quite like driving to work in that fresh morning air while filing your lungs with smoke. And when you and your smoking colleagues leave the office five times today to meet in your little leper colony outside to do your favorite drug, why don't you strike up a little conversation about Peter Jennings? Diagnosis to dead in four months. Just what are you going to be doing four months from now?"

I read this on a message board...

Funniest/scariest thing: When street preachers would invade campus, I'd always ride my bike up to them and ask from the crowd if they had any anti-Catholic literature. They'd invariably get excited and say "Yes!" I'd take it, then continually rudely interrupt them as I went through the pamphlets. I'd say, "Excuse me, but this says we worship Mary. Why are you bearing false witness?"

I am SO going to do this when the Fall semester starts up!

Tony Halme. The Man, the Myth, the Legend.

Well, since Tanaka (Buffalo) (I stole that "buffalo" thing from WrestleCrap.com) returned on Monday and apparently signed a contract with WWE on Tuesday, I thought it would only be fair to check up on what the man who ended his WWF undefeated streak in the 90's: Ludvig Borga. Check out the link below to see what ole Ludvig's been up to. Insane.

Def Leppard and Bryan Adams

I decided instead of reviewing last night's Bryan Adams and Def Leppard concert, I'd just make a few observations.

It wasn't too bad of a show, actually. None of the guys looked too old and all of them seemed to have kept in pretty good shape. Including the Def Leppard guy who looked exactly like X-Pac.

I thought I'd only know two Def Leppard songs, but instead I knew every single one. Even two songs that I had previously thought were Van Halen. I guess that makes me 100% Def Leppard fan.

I thought I'd only know two Bryan Adams songs, and I did. I guess that makes me normal.

Amber didn't understand why I kept saying THIS and giggling profusely.

WWE.com Bret Hart arrives in Stamford

Big news from WWE.com. Hopefully they have a little more planned then just a DVD. Doesn't the idea of Hart interfering in the Michaels/Hogan SummerSlam match sound awesome?

"Former WWE Champion Bret Hart has arrived at WWE Headquarters. The “Hit Man” will be meeting with WWE officials regarding the possibility of an upcoming DVD. Hart will be in Stamford for the remainder of the week. WWE.com will have further updates as more information becomes available."
