Alaska guv to Sen. Reid: Start drilling in ANWR!

How crazy is it that the local state government in Alaska doesn't have the basic right to decide whether or not to drill for oil?

UK Military probing UFO video

Huge siting and video by the UK Ministry of Defense.

Cpl Proctor, 38, of the 1st Battalion Irish Regiment, recalled how he saw the amazing “craft” just after 11pm on Saturday, June 7.

He said: “I was on duty in the guard room when the other boys outside began shouting. I went out to see what the commotion was about and could see thirteen craft in the skies.

“They were zig-zagging, but I filmed two before they disappeared. They were like rotating cubes with multiple colours.

“I made a full report to my commanding officers and gave them my footage. The other lads were as amazed by it as I was.”

Energy Guzzled by Al Gore’s Home in Past Year Could Power 232 U.S. Homes for a Month

That's a pretty big electric bill. Could you imagine what his grocery bill for the month is?

NASHVILLE - In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice President’s home energy use surged more than 10%, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.

“A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,” said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. “Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.”

In the past year, Gore’s home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month.

In February 2007, An Inconvenient Truth, a film based on a climate change speech developed by Gore, won an Academy Award for best documentary feature. The next day, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research uncovered that Gore’s Nashville home guzzled 20 times more electricity than the average American household.

After the Tennessee Center for Policy Research exposed Gore’s massive home energy use, the former Vice President scurried to make his home more energy-efficient. Despite adding solar panels, installing a geothermal system, replacing existing light bulbs with more efficient models, and overhauling the home’s windows and ductwork, Gore now consumes more electricity than before the “green” overhaul.

Since taking steps to make his home more environmentally-friendly last June, Gore devours an average of 17,768 kWh per month –1,638 kWh more energy per month than before the renovations – at a cost of $16,533. By comparison, the average American household consumes 11,040 kWh in an entire year, according to the Energy Information Administration.

In the wake of becoming the most well-known global warming alarmist, Gore won an Oscar, a Grammy and the Nobel Peace Prize. In addition, Gore saw his personal wealth increase by an estimated $100 million thanks largely to speaking fees and investments related to global warming hysteria.

“Actions speak louder than words, and Gore’s actions prove that he views climate change not as a serious problem, but as a money-making opportunity,” Johnson said. “Gore is exploiting the public’s concern about the environment to line his pockets and enhance his profile.”

The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, a Nashville-based free market think tank and watchdog organization, obtained information about Gore’s home energy use through a public records request to the Nashville Electric Service.

LP vs. CP

Here's an article from the Libertarian Party that describes the differences between the Libertarian and Constitution Parties. It's a good read, especially if you're looking for that third party alternative this year.

George Bush doesn't like white people.

ABC News: Ron Paul's Campaign to 'Shift Gears'

Ron Paul is using his fifteen minutes of fame to do something awesome. He's launching a campaign to kick the big-government liberals out of the Republican Party.

The new entity will be used to push a slate of libertarian-minded Republican candidates for public office in local districts nationwide, according to a description provided to ABC News by the Paul campaign. Paul also recently published a new book on his political philosophy, The Revolution: A Manifesto.

George Noory ponders 2012 White House run

Now HERE is a guy I'd vote for.

NEW YORK – Popular late-night radio host George Noory says that with many issues of concern to him and his vast audience not being addressed, he's once again pondering a run for the White House in 2012. "With the millions of listeners to Coast to Coast AM, I get constant feedback from people who are not happy with the current candidates," Noory told WND.

"Maybe I will run for president in 2012," Noory said, affirming a WND story published in November.

Last fall, Noory acknowledged he has never run for office, "but every night I am reaching out to millions of Americans on the radio, and I am deeply concerned that the middle class of the United States is being sold out to multi-national corporations with a globalist agenda."

In an interview last week, Noory repeated his concerns.

"We need to free ourselves right now, not 10 years from now, from our dependence on foreign oil," Noory said. "We are being strangled by the oil cartels."

He affirmed he is an advocate of the abiotic theory of the origin of oil, which contends the resource is non-biological, produced within the mantle of the earth on an on-going basis.

Noory said the income tax "needs to be abolished or greatly restructured, because Americans deserve to get 100 percent use of the money they work hard to earn."

Return of the Ghostbusters

Here's a fan film sequel to Ghostbusters. If you're a fan of the original (and you should be) give this movie a try. It's only 85 minutes long. The acting isn't the greatest, but the sound and special effects are totally pro. It's a pretty good story too.

There's also a couple of surprises that I don't want to ruin.

Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less.

Do a favor for those of us who commute. Click on the link and sign this gas price petition:

We, therefore, the undersigned citizens of the United States, petition the U.S. Congress to act immediately to lower gasoline prices by authorizing the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries.

It comes from a group created by Newt Gingrich, called American Solutions for Winning the Future. Here's a couple of excerpts from their mission statement:

"We recently launched American Solutions for Winning the Future, a unique non-partisan organization designed to rise above traditional gridlocked partisanship, to provide real, significant solutions to the most important issues facing our country."
...
"It is clear America is faced with enormous challenges both at home and abroad. It is equally clear that the current political-governmental system is stuck in pathology of negative ads, short attention spans, gridlocked partisanship and lack of effective solutions that work and can be implemented. This is a big not a small problem. Solving it will require a big not a small solution."

Congress, get off your gas, and drill!

Here's a great column by Chuck Norris.

Look at the energy chaos that our government has allowed. While we remain at the mercy of oil companies, cartels and OPEC, our government has tied the hands of states and citizens to tap even temporary energy relief from our own land. Here are a few key vistas on the oil and energy landscape at the moment:

  1. Though we have more oil in the shale of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming than combined in the Middle East (800 billion barrels), liberals and environmentalists have made it illegal to touch it.

  2. It's illegal to drill in northern Alaska (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge), or off the coasts of Florida or California.

  3. Oil fields in Colorado are being shut down.

  4. We won't develop shale oil fields in the Western states
  5. It's illegal to explore in the Atlantic.

  6. It's illegal to explore in the Pacific.

  7. It's illegal to explore in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico.

  8. We're not receiving any more leases to drill in the Gulf of Mexico, while China, Venezuela and Cuba are.

  9. We haven't built an oil refinery in 25 years and reduced in half those we have.

  10. There's enough natural gas beneath America (406 trillion cube feet) to heat every home in America for the next 150 years, but we can't tap it all.

  11. We have the largest supply of coal in the world, but it's Germany who is planning to build 27 coal-fired electrical plants by 2020.

  12. American airlines are in danger of going out of business.

  13. American truckers are being stranded on the sides of the road.

  14. American commuters are going bankrupt trying to travel back and forth to work, and are being forced to work locally for lower wages.

  15. If there isn't a conspiracy going on here, someone needs to make a movie about one!

Ronald Reagan Speaks Out Against Socialized Medicine

Another one from BOG.

Wow! This is the best Reagan speech I've ever heard. Amazing.

If McCain was a conservative, I'd have him just call a press conference and read this speech.

Larry King: Stan Romanek interview

Larry King's been doing a lot of UFO related stuff lately. Here's a panel discussion with the Denver "Alien" people.

I'll say this. I do question Romanek's motives ($$$$) but at least he seems sincer. That Mathew Baxter sure seems like a prick, though.

"CNN's Larry King talks to a panel about the possibility of a tape containing footage of an actual alien."
